Because of my experience of working as a volunteer coordinator for other charities, I was well-placed to be the Volunteer Coordinator for CCK. When I joined CCK had a few volunteers, but no official systems or policies in place for dealing with volunteers and no internship programme. I helped CCK set up policies and procedures for recruiting and working with
volunteers and help establish and support the new internship programme.
