Meeting the Queer Fool

Meeting the Queer Fool

'a day workshop for lgbtq people'

Pop down to Bradbury Studios for a day workshop for all LGBTQ people. The workshop will be held on the 11th of February, costing £40-£160 a head on a sliding scale.

The workshop is led by Al Head, a founder member of QUIP (QUeers Into Performance). Al is a performer, musician and writer, and has been leading workshops for over 30 years.

His work is exploratory, focusing on the inner queer fool and the queer fool's relevance to wider queer theory. Here's an extract from his website:

"In the Queer Fool workshops and performances we find the links between Queer and the Fool. We explore the Fool archetype as lgbtq people working together, experiencing and discovering our masks and how to play them, our dances and how to dance them. We explore Queer as a concept and as lived experience. We discover the Queer Fool. We acknowledge our connections and tell our stories."
